Papers, Exams, and Shows, oh my!
I suppose one month and one day is long enough between posts. I apologize for not keeping you updated, but I'm afraid you haven't missed much in my life. This first half of the semester was nearly uneventful. I think we're all feeling like the days and weeks dragged by, but most of the students can't believe it's time for mid-terms. For me, getting re-adjusted, back into the flow of classes, figuring out a work schedule and starting to think seriously about this summer and next fall have my head reeling.
Going back to happenings after the last update. I think closest to that was Miller Show. As mentioned, my roommate Katie (the super-cool-awesome one :D) was a vocal jazz major (recently switched to biomed sciences, haha) and is in a jazz choir called Gold Company. Their biggest show was the weekend of Valentine's Day. It was absolutely phenomenal. Each performance I attend at Western astounds me more and more. I can't even wrap my mind around the quality of each show. Plus, I have acquired a love for jazz performances. I hadn't ever really seen one before, but they are so fun and absolutely exploding with emotion.
That same weekend Ira (and fellow choir'ers) performed at Solo & Ensemble all receiving excellent scores. Because I was at Katie's show, I wasn't able to make it home for Solo & Ensemble or Valentine's Day (more on the best V-Day present ever later!!), but I will be able to go to State S & E in March in Big Rapids. For that, I am excited!
The just last weekend I was home for Ira's choir concert. I failed to make him the traditional milkshake before his performance, but it didn't seem to affect the performance what-so-ever. The weekend was nicely uneventful. I headed back Sunday evening to get back here at about 3 a.m. The weather was dreadful.
So now, 93 1/2 hours later I'm packed and ready to take back off for home and SPRING BREAK at the end of tomorrow. This week has just been falling down around me, but I'm almost through the tests and exams and mid-terms. I still have a Spanish paper to write, a German quiz and my Chinese mid-term.
The best part of this week has definitely been my Valentine's Day gift. Ira bought me a ticket to see the Broadway, Disney version of Beauty and the Beast. It was divine! There were several parts that I have just given up to magic because I cannot logically explain how they were possible even though they happened right in front of my eyes. I KNOW that Chip's head was on a platter without his body accompanying him and I SAW, with my own eyes, that Beast transformed into a prince right there on stage. It was a wonderful break in this week, and I had an absolute blast!
I am going to go cram for my Chinese exam, now. I will be home from tomorrow night until March 7th because we have an early Spring Break.
Goodnight all!

we can't get off the "track", even though sometimes we'd like to for awhile.
Love you bunches - keep blogging!
